![]() ![]() Not only can it record any number of cameras you want, but uses very little processing power. The software is too advanced to go into a deep review, but if you have any interest at all in recording cameras, SecuritySpy is the go-to software. I have the 16 camera version and normally record 9 to 11 cameras. There are tiers one can purchase such as 1, 4, 8, 16 and unlimited cameras. SecuritySpy can record an unlimited number of cameras. Here is m y review of SecuritySpy from December 2019. In 2017, I voted it as my favorite software product of the year for Apple World Today. SecuritySpy is software made by bensoftware based in the U.K. Thanks for an otherwise great and stable software product.I’ve been a user of Security Spy camera recording software for many years. I'm sure it's an entire different approach to the software and may not be possible with the way SecuritySpy handles images and videos, but I thought I'd ask about it. Evocam did the inverse- it allows you to define certain areas within the camera field that are of interest and to separately define and set the motion sensitivity in these areas. I know that SecuritySpy does masking to eliminate parts of the image area. (BTW, is there a way of doing this now in SecuritySpy?)Ģ. It's really a more efficient way finding events than going through all the videos recorded. The ability to create an automatic timelapse image archive that allows you to speed through viewing motion events in single file, allowing fast searching for motion events of interest. I very much like SecuritySpy, but I miss two features found in Evocam and I'm wondering if they could be considered for a future update to SecuritySpy?ġ. I was previously using Evocam, a competing product that had become unstable is no longer being developed and supported. I've recently purchased a 4-camera license for SecuritySpy. I sure would like to get the full picture in SecuritySpy, I'm sure it's something I'm doing wrong. It's all metal, has a nice camera and huge IR lights, internal heater, Audio, PTZ x4 and did I mention it's all metal :) This is one solid beast of a security camera, huge upgrade from my Foscam junk that finally died. RTSP UDP - connected but only top 1/4 video shows RTSP TCP - connected but only top 1/4 video shows I tried the 3 different formats available in Security Spy: I did have to set the ONVIF port to 8000 and the RTSP port to:554 before SecuritySpy would recognize it. I can connect to the camera with Safari on my mac and see the whole picture as well as IE in Parallels. Either one I pick I only get about the top 1/4 of the video and the bottom 3/4 is just gray. Security spy can get the profile list and I can pick either the main high rez profile or the sub profile which is VGA. On the Amazon listing they even show SecuritySpy software as compatible. I didn't see it in your list, but I did see that if it was ONVIF compliant that it should work. Although, I just got a new PTZ ONVIF compliant Reolink RLC-423 outdoor camera. Hello, I've been a longtime user of Security Spy and it works great. ![]() I understand this is probably an issue with the camera itself when toggling IR, but any help with this would be appreciated! Normally this wouldn't be an issue, but this particular camera is used for intruder detection and triggers an alarm. The camera is using wi-fi via Internet Sharing connected directly to an iMac running SecuritySpy in a virtual machine, so bandwidth is not an issue. My settings for this particular camera are post- and pre-capture 5 seconds, recompress video is off, recompress audio is on. I can't be sure what's happening in this situation, but I thought SecuritySpy was designed to ignore motion triggers that are the result of a full-frame change, such as lighting. Here's where the problem comes in: SecuriySpy is detecting motion because it would seem the camera is "freezing" and then resuming. I do this to prevent the IR change from triggering motion detection, as it has happened. This script detects the light level in the room, checks if the camera in question is "ACTIVE" in SecuritySpy, sets it to "PASSIVE", turns the IR on or off, then 7 seconds later re-activates the camera. I have a script to manually control the IR on my camera because the built-in automatic IR control in the camera is unreliable (It'll turn on even when there is enough light). ![]()
